STELLENBOSCH, WESTERN CAPE, SOUTH AFRICA, June 25, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – Felbridge, a leading South African grower and supplier of cannabis and hemp raw materials, is pleased to announce the first commercial shipment of Dry. successfully exported cannabis flower to Switzerland to South Africa.

The 320kg shipment was sent from Cape Town International Airport and establishes Felbridge as a leading producer for the world market and connects African cultivation directly with European consumption. The shipment is the first in a major multi-year off-take agreement with similar sized shipments to be exported according to the company’s production schedule. The export follows Felbridge’s announcement that the company recently exported its first shipment of cannabis in vitro tissue cultures to a licensed manufacturer in North Macedonia.

Leslie Zetler, Felbridge’s Chief Executive Officer, commented: “The export of South Africa’s first commercial shipment of medical cannabis to Europe is our most significant milestone to date. This is a huge achievement not only for our group but also for the South African cannabis and hemp industries and reaffirms our belief that our genetics, developed using artificial intelligence breeding technologies, will continue to experience strong demand in the European market . We believe we have taken a great first step in responding to President Ramaphosa’s call in his 2020 State of the Union address to call for local industries to develop in line with global trends. ”

Felbridge, which received its grow license in 2020, is not only developing its own distribution channel for its dried flower and starter material offerings, but is also positioning itself to support other licensed growers who are leveraging their genetics with sales opportunities in global markets.

Navigating the highly regulated global cannabis market can be challenging for smaller producers, and Felbridge bridges this gap by providing licensed breeders with genetically superior cannabis and hemp genetics in the form they need – be it seeds, rooted clones or in vitro tissue to meet the quality and regulatory requirements of its customers. Our existing genetic catalog has unique and predictable properties, which maximizes production potential while minimizing risk. After this export, we are now confident that the regulations, market and logistics are working as planned and will soon be approaching other licensed breeders with purchase options using Felbridge genetics. Our particular focus will be on emerging farmers with the skills, licenses and infrastructure required to grow high quality medicinal cannabis flowers for export to our existing customers, as well as to open up new markets for our products. Purchase agreements not only allow licensees to consolidate their business plans and receive funding, they also allow the industry to expand and prosper. South Africa has great potential to become a major producer for the world market and thereby generate considerable export income for the economy. This leads to increased employment opportunities, skills development and further investments in the sector, ”added Mr. Zetler.

Felbridge has built important relationships with international companies and local institutions that provide a solid platform for growth. It is the licensed distributor of Puregene based in Switzerland for the African market and sells their genetics via seeds, rooted clones and tissue cultures and has also signed a collaboration agreement with Perfect Plants, a leading biogenetics company based in the Netherlands, to um It plans to expand its range of starter material by taking advantage of Perfect Plants’ extensive genetic library and distributing it for sale in global markets via in vitro tissue culture, seeds or rooted clones As a full member of the South African National Seed Organization (SANSOR) Felbridge to start producing cannabis and hemp seeds in the fourth quarter of 2021.

The company aims to become the leading breeder in South Africa serving the international market with high quality medicinal cannabis and hemp products and raw materials, and firmly believes it is well on the way to achieving its goals. “Felbridge continues on with its strategy and has now successfully completed the export of dried flower and in vitro tissues to Europe and also supplies local licensed growers with seeds, rooted clones and tissue cultures. Our steadily growing order backlog is proof of our service and product quality and undoubtedly provides a solid foundation for future growth. Felbridge has proven to the market that we not only have customers, we have delivered, and will continue to do so as the company and industry develop. This would not have been possible without our dedicated team of employees who worked tirelessly to ensure that our quality products are brought to the market safely and responsibly and that they meet all regulatory requirements, ”added Mr. Zetler.
