Swade Cannabis, the St. Louis-based BeLeaf Medical line of pharmacies, opened its much-anticipated Loop location at 6166 Delmar Boulevard this week.

The new shop had its soft opening on Thursday, June 24th. The pharmacy is located in a renovated church building, making it one of the most unique places in town to buy weed.

That seems to be part of a bigger trend for Swade, whose flagship Grove location was named one of the 12 most stylish pharmacies in the country by Architectural Digest and described as “a work of art to walk” by RFT’s own cannabis critic, Tommy Chims, in “Thanks.” the work of several local artists. The Delmar site has seen some of these treatments too. Swade shared on social media a photo of acclaimed local artist Brock Seals posing in front of a colorful tribute to the Delmar Loop he created on one of his walls .
According to a press release announcing the opening, Swade’s new location will continue the brand’s overarching goal of providing cannabis education in addition to the high quality products it is already known for.

“Our pharmacies are tailored to create an open and inviting atmosphere with a first-class experience for the educated patient who has yet to be educated. We want you to feel comfortable in our pharmacy and we help you to find the perfect product and the perfect variety for your needs, ”says Jack Haddox, Director of Dispensary Operations. “You can find flowers, food, drinks and other medical products at our locations. More options are added every day. ”

Many of these products will come through the Sinse brand, the cannabis growing and manufacturing arm of BeLeaf. Recently, RFT sent science reporter Leah Shaffer to the warehouse where this work is done for a cover story that covers some of the intricacies of the practice. (Read this story here.)

According to the press release, Swade plans to hold a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for its Delmar store later this summer, but a date has not yet been announced. In the meantime, however, true cannabis believers have a new church to attend.

“Patients deserve easy and convenient access to life-changing drugs that make their lives better,” said Tom Muzzey, CEO of BeLeaf, “and we are honored that we cannot offer this any less with medical cannabis AND education at The Delmar Loop. ”
